Russell Scanlan’s SME Department specialises in meeting the insurance needs of small to medium sized businesses (SME’S), whose premiums can range from £200 - £7,500. As one of the UK’s longest established Independent Insurance Brokers with many years of experience in this field we have the knowledge to simplify the whole process of arranging your insurance.
Traditionally SME covers are considered to be "package" type policies covering your assets, earnings and legal liabilities. At Russell Scanlan our SME team also specializes in arranging many other bespoke insurances to meet the needs of the small to medium sized business. These may include (but are not limited to):
- Trademan Insurance. for plumbers, painters, plasterers, electricians and the like to cover legal liabilities of your business plus tools, plant and materials all as standard.
- Public Houses, Restaurants and Hotels. to cover both licensed and non-licensed establishments. Public and employer's liability, fixtures and fittings, business interruption and loss of liquor licence are all included.. You can add a number of extras including cover for your buildings
- Offices. to cover as standard employers and public liability, business interruption and office contents, plus you may also choose to include computer breakdown or cover for your buildings.
- Shops to cover retail businesses such as sweet shops, bakeries and florists for a range of risks including public and employer's liability, business interruption and shop contents/stock. Additional covers such as building(s) or deterioration of stock can also be included.
- Surgeries to cover surgery-based clinics, physiotherapists, dentists and the like, including employer's and public liability, and contents cover. For businesses with more specific needs you can add a range of optional extras such as buildings or the additional expense of a hiring a locum.
- Landlord’s Insurance – Commercial and Residential Properties to cover maybe single occupancy dwellings or perhaps a full portfolio of commercial properties. Standard cover would include damage to the building(s) plus property owners liability but you'll also be able to add cover for loss of rent and employer's liability or contents of communal parts.
- Professional Insurances. Professional Indemnity cover is essential if you work in a profession where you give advice or a service to a client for a fee and provides cover for claims made against you or your business in respect of errors, omissions and professional negligence. Directors’ & Officers’ Liability provides cover for directors and other officers of a company in respect of claims made against them for actions taken by them in their capacity as a director or officer.
- Marine and transit Insurance until your goods reach reach their destination they may still be your property and may therefore need protecting just as much as when on your premises. Goods in Transit and Marine insurance can be arranged to provide this cover during shipping or movement away from your premises.
- Engineering and Inspection insurance the regular inspection of plant and machinery is an important part of meeting statutory and operational requirements. In addition cover can also be arranged to protect you from financial loss.
- Personal Accident and Sickness Insurance to provide a financial benefit if you are unlucky enough to be ill or have an accident that results in long-term absence from work. It is particularly relevant for self-employed or employed persons whose income would suffer from an extended absence from work.
- Specialist Schemes for Micro Breweries, Allotment Associations & Community Centres. At Russell Scanlan we already have a number of specialist insurance schemes tailored to meet the specific needs of individual industries and are always happy to consider new affiliated schemes if approached.
